What happens in the beginning, middle and end of the story?

At the beginning Georgie gets kidnapped and gets his arm bitten off by Pennywise the clown after losing his paper boat down a drain. In the middle of the story, Georgie's older brother and his friends start to see the clown and they try to find Georgie and more children start to go missing. At the end  they kill Pennywise.

What are the most important events in the story?

The most important events are when Georgie gets kidnapped by Pennywise, the scenes where they encounter Pennywise, the scene where they go into the old house and try to save Georgie and when they defeat the clown.

How do we know where the story takes place?

There are sign posts in the background and the characters mention where they are and the surroundings can suggest where they are.

Who or what is the story about?

The story is about a demonic clown who kidnaps and kills children and feeds off of their fear.

How long does the story take in real time?

A few weeks.

What might happen next?

The clown might come back and they might have to defeat him again.

How does this story remind you of other stories?

The ending is quite happy as they defeat the clown and a lot of stories seem to end happily and positively.

How would you like the story to continue?

I would like Pennywise to come back and be defeated again.

Equilibrium: Georgie and his brother are in their house and everything is quite normal and his older brother makes him a paper boat.

Disruption; George loses his boat in a storm drain and when he goes to get it a demonic clown (pennywise) is holding is and tries to lure Georgie in but when Georgie tries to get away Pennywise bites his arm off and kidnaps him.

Recognition of disruption: Bill (Georgie's brother) wants to find his brother and him and his friends go looking for Georgie and they start to hear noises and see the clown and more people start to go missing so they keep trying to find Georgie.

Attempt to solve: Bill keeps seeing Georgie in his house and they keep trying t get rid of Pennywise and figure out what is happening.

New equilibrium: They defeat the clown

Non-linear films: IT Chapter 2, Titanic

  1. Excellent Molly! The recognition is just that Bill realises Georgie has been taken, the rest is all part of the attempt to solve.
