Lo: To explore the disaster movie genre.
1. Are the main characters in disaster films usually male or female?
The main characters in disaster movies are usually male.
2. Which of your chosen films involve a storyline in which the main character has to get a member of their family to safety?
Titanic. Although the characters are not related to each other they are still trying to get other characters to safety so this film has the closest storyline to that.
3. Which of your chosen films end with the disaster being overcome?
Godzilla and Apollo 13
1. Who is the main character and what is their job
A girl who is a photographer.
2. What is the disaster?
The main character realises that the world is a simulation and that nothing as real as she starts to notice glitches. Then there is on big glitch where everyone around her starts to "malfunction". Everyone apart from her starts to become aggressive and they try to kill her so she has to find a way to escape and stop the glitch.
3. You will need at least 3 other characters. Who are they and what is their relationship with the main character?
Her best friend who is the main person who tries to kill her, her other friend who is helping her at first but then she gets killed, the creature that is controlling the simulation.
4. Another character is going to have to die towards the beginning of the film. Who are they and how do they die?
Her friend who gets killed by the people that have malfunctioned.
5. What will your action scene be and why will it occur?
The action scene will be the main character running from the other characters that are trying to kill her.
6. Your film ends happily with the disaster being overcome. How does this happen?
She manages to kill the creature that is controlling the simulation which fixes the glitch.
Oooh - I love the idea of this. It's a cross between The Matrix, Inception and something else I can't remember the name of!
