What is the purpose of Media?

  • Entertainment, communication, to spread a message to a large amount of people and to make money.

Media influence

A lot of media doesn't influence me as I have quite different opinions to a lot of people who i see on media particularly on social media.

  Thursday 24th September 2020 LO: to analyse a media text using Media Language In the Tenet trailer, mise-en-scene is used effectively to make the scenes more intense. For example guns and people fighting make it more intense , more interesting  and it implies that the film is an action film.  This would persuade  people who like action films t o watch the film.   Editing is also used in the Tenet trailer. For example some of the trailer is edited to be in reverse. This suggests that parts of the film are in reverse or happen in reverse. This makes the film seem more interesting and intriguing,  therefore more people will be likely to watch it.   Tuesday 2nd February 2021                                   Setting Why might a director choose the following settings? 1. An isolated house in a rural setting for a horror film. A director might choose this setting for a horror film because it makes it creepier if the house is in the middle of no where as the characters cannot escape easily and get help if they are in danger so it is more likely that whatever is after the characters will be able to get to the characters. 2. A big city for an action film A director might choose this setting for an action film because usually cities are very busy and usually a lot happens in an action film so it would make sense for the film to be set in a busy place 3.
